Advertised as "Two Holidays in One!" - this badge covered both the Highlands and Rosebank Holiday Camps in Clacton - you'd stay at one, but enjoy the amenities of both!

Highlands - Thorpe Road, boasted up-to-date 2 bedroom chalets with own shower and toilet facilities.

Rosebank - 251 London Road, advertised Caravans - luxury and modern, all sizes!

The amenities listed were: swimming pools, clubhouse with entertainment and dancing, bingo, competitions, shops, amusements, restaurant, and more!

Do you remember spending days playing penny slots, playing with the zip wire in the playground, jumping off the big diving board, or entering the swimming galas?

Or even visiting the nearby Robin Hood pub?

Rosebank had various owners over the years: Alfred and Ivy Wilson who started up the site in the 40s and 50s, and later Bill and Joan Nicholson, after them came The Bramwells (Mr Bramwell often used to pick guests up himself from the railway station, and perform magic tricks).

Highlands was managed by H Chilvers, Bon and Doreen Dabbs, Eric Albert and Thomas Harries over time, among others. With shops run by Millie and David Moore, and entertainments manager Pearl Race. David Moore also ran a seaside postcard business called Sapphire Cards.

As you made your way into Clacton, there were 3 camps: Highfields, Castle Hill Camp then Rosebank. Highlands was in Thorpe Road, and there was also Burrsville Holiday Park in Burrs Road.

This T shirt comes in a unisex, vintage fitted style, in an off-white colour, or in deck chair red.
