Similar to our blue 1980s design - this is based on the badges given to kids in the 70s. There was a sticker on the back of the badge, that your caravan number was written on, in case you got lost!

Originating as the Southcliffe Trailer Camp, The Martello Caravan Park was established by Douglas Garton, a Colchester based transport contractor, along with Florence Garton and Kate Norfolk.

The Gartons' son Robin, later provided the entertainment at the Martello with his band.  Robin also ran a Martello Studios from the basement of the Martello tower on-site, producing jingles, advertisements, recordings, even recording his own band's singles on the Big T / Martello label.

Many other entertainers would appear over the course of the years at the Martello as well as Robin's much loved dance band; the Benny Harris Set, Bryan and Charlie, and later Bryan and Tom (after Charlie sadly passed away).

100% cotton.
